Neil deNasty put together one of the more efficient stat lines you will see in a regular-season game, finishing with 30 points on 10-of-15 shooting, 3-of-6 from three, and a perfect 7-of-7 at the free-throw line, adding 7 assists and a plus-26 in just under 25 minutes. The New Jersey Scientists rode that performance to a 113-103 road win over the D.C. Dobermans, pulling away steadily in the second half and never facing a genuine deficit down the stretch.
The turning point arrived midway through the third quarter, when deNasty ran pick-and-roll actions that the Dobermans simply could not contain. His ability to get to the rim and draw fouls, combined with a willingness to kick out to shooters, opened the floor and pushed the Scientists' lead from four to fourteen inside of five minutes. D.C. never recovered, despite persistent individual production from their own contributors.
DeNasty's supporting cast did its part. An unnamed Scientists wing went 10-of-19 with four triples for 26 points and 8 rebounds, and a second rotation piece added 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals on 5-of-8 shooting, finishing plus-13 across more than 36 minutes. Three contributors in double figures, zero turnovers from the rebounder, and a collective willingness to move the ball made New Jersey look considerably deeper than the final margin suggests.
For D.C., Savitor Ceewebsto led the way with 19 points and 3 steals but turned the ball over four times and finished at minus-15, a combination that captured the Dobermans' night in full. A'mare Zombiemire shot efficiently, going 6-of-8 from the field with four made threes for 16, but the home team never found the defensive consistency required to keep deNasty off the line or out of the paint.
New Jersey improves on the strength of a performance that centered almost entirely on one player's controlled aggression. deNasty's 28.0 game score in fewer than 25 minutes is the kind of output that forces opponents to rethink defensive coverages well before the next meeting. D.C. will need answers at the point of attack if they want a different result.
