Tyrant Lifts Keepers Past Austin
Shinobi Tyrant posted 22 points and five threes as San Diego held off a late Austin push to win 121-116.

San Diego ran its offense through Shinobi Tyrant for most of the night and got exactly what it needed. Tyrant finished with 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting, drilling five of his ten three-point attempts and committing zero turnovers in 29 minutes, as the Keepers edged the Austin Machines 121-116 in a game that stayed closer than the box score suggests it should have.
The Machines made it uncomfortable late, buoyed by Stone Cold's flawless shooting performance. Stone Cold went 7-of-7 from the field, added six assists, and posted a plus-2 in his 20 minutes, giving Austin real momentum in the second half. But the Keepers answered each Austin run with enough ball movement and free-throw efficiency to keep the lead intact. San Diego shot 6-of-6 from the stripe in a key stretch, a sequence that ultimately put the margin beyond Austin's reach.
Tyrant was the engine, but the Keepers got complementary production from two unnamed contributors who kept the offense from stalling whenever Austin tightened its defense. One hit 3-of-6 from the field with a perfect 6-of-6 at the line and a plus-14 in under 20 minutes. Another shot 57 percent from deep on limited attempts and landed at plus-15 over 22 minutes. Those two lineups provided the cushion Tyrant's big night was built on.
Austin had plenty of its own firepower. Otto Matic chipped in 19 points and three assists on 7-of-17 shooting, and an Austin frontcourt piece put up 21 points and seven rebounds, but four turnovers in 27 minutes from that same player gave San Diego extra possessions at critical moments. The Machines outscored their expected output most of the night; they just couldn't get stops when the game was there to be taken.
San Diego improves to the winning side of this one without a dominant margin, which is sometimes the more telling result. The Keepers had to earn every possession down the stretch, and they did. Austin will need Stone Cold to keep that efficiency going and tighten the turnover column if it wants to flip results like this one.
