The Nashville Miracle needed every bucket Kairo Gold had. Gold finished with 19 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists on 5-of-6 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line, posting a plus-8 in 27 minutes as Nashville held on to beat the Phoenix Skulls 113-110 on the road Saturday.
Phoenix made it uncomfortable late. Reggie poured in 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting, including 3-of-8 from three, and the Skulls trimmed a seven-point deficit to three in the final two minutes. But Nashville refused to give the ball back cleanly. Gold drew a late foul, converted, and the Miracle ran out the clock without letting Phoenix get a clean look at the tying possession.
Gold's efficiency was the story of the night. His 5-of-6 mark from the field stood in contrast to Nashville's other contributors, who ground through rougher shooting nights but still produced. Larry CyBird logged 18 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 blocks, though his minus-9 plus-minus reflected the stretches when Phoenix clawed back. CyBird went 6-of-15 from the field and 3-of-10 from deep, leaving points on the floor that made Gold's precise 19-point line feel even more load-bearing.
Phoenix got a strong game from the wrong roster slot. Reggie's 22 were the Skulls' brightest moment, but their complementary pieces couldn't match the efficiency Nashville squeezed out of its rotation. Nashville's supporting cast added 17 points and 6 assists from one contributor on 6-of-12 shooting, keeping the offense functional even when CyBird misfired from the arc.
Nashville improves with a win that required all 48 minutes and a clean free-throw line down the stretch. Phoenix drops a game it had the talent to steal. Both teams will want to revisit the fourth quarter on film, one to understand how it nearly slipped away, the other to figure out why it ran out of time.
